We encourage family members to bring personal items for patients that may encourage their recovery including cards, letters and photographs. We also urge families to keep personal items of value, like jewelry and cash, safe at home. We cannot permit flowers, potted plants, or balloons, as they have the potential to cause allergic reactions in some patients on the unit. Furthermore, we do not allow food to be brought into the CCU or PCU.
