The respiratory care department offers many of its inpatient services on an outpatient basis as well. In addition, several specialized services can be prescribed by doctors. These include:

• Electroencephalograms (EEGs) for testing for patients with sleep apnea - a condition that hampers breathing during sleep.
• EEG testing helps doctors detect brain wave abnormalities that can lead to breathing disorders.
• Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and blood gas analyses can be conducted to better understand how lung function is affecting other systems.
