Dr. Krishnan has been involved with Antelope Valley Hospital for nearly 35 years, including 32 years on the medical staff. He currently serves as chief medical officer over medical staff affairs and regulatory review. Over the years, his leadership positions at the hospital have included ten years as chair of the Department of Medicine, six years as chair of Diabetes Education and Management Committee, chair of Quality Management and Patient Safety, and medical director for Quality and Accreditation.
During his extensive tenure at AVH, Dr. Krishnan has held various leadership roles in many medical staff functions such as quality of patient care, improving core measures, supervising and implementing national patient safety goals, supervising peer review activities of many medical staff departments, credentialing and privileging of practitioners, and other quality and patient safety initiatives.
Dr. Krishnan has represented the medical staff on many occasions in surveys by accrediting and licensing agencies such as Joint Commission and DPH and has been on the leadership team for seven successful Joint Commission Accreditation Surveys. He also was instrumental in the hospital obtaining CME Accreditation with commendation.
Dr. Krishnan received his medical degree from the University of Madras, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at Oakwood Hospital Health Systems in Dearborn, Michigan. After his residency, he did two years of fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.
