It is our privilege to have you as a patient and our guest.
Please take a moment to review our admissions information, which can help ensure a smooth registration process and help us have everything ready when you arrive.
You can pre‑register for all scheduled surgeries, admissions and maternity services.
To help expedite the registration process, a few days prior to your scheduled procedure our pre‑registration office will call you to obtain some basic information, including your insurance eligibility and coverage as well as any special needs or requests you have. Our representative also can answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.
On the day you’re being admitted, please go directly to the admitting area, located at the main entrance. Here you will need to check‑in and complete the admission process.
If you have not pre‑registered, please allow at least 30 minutes for the registration process prior to admission.
Please consult with your physician regarding medical questions such as whether to eat or drink prior to surgery, tests or procedures. If the orders are not followed, this could result in surgery, tests or procedures being delayed or canceled.
Some procedures require pre‑admission testing, such as lab work, x‑rays or other diagnostic tests. Your doctor will tell you if and when you need to come to the hospital before your scheduled procedure to complete these tests.
When visiting the hospital for pre‑admission testing, please check‑in with the admission desk inside the main entrance. You will then be directed to the pre‑admitting area where you will complete your paperwork and proceed to the proper department.
When labor begins you can go directly to the Women &
Infants Pavilion for registration and admission. For your
convenience you can print out the pre‑admission form
in advance and bring the completed form into the Women &
Infants Pavilion admitting department in advance.

For your hospital stay, please make sure to bring:
It is recommended that you bring the following items if you are staying overnight:
We recommend that you leave your valuables at home. The hospital cannot assume responsibility for lost items or money.
Please call your physician for the correct date and time to arrive for your surgery or procedure. Allow plenty of time to park and complete your registration and check‑in process.
Uninsured Patients should inquire with the registration staff about speaking with a financial counselor prior to the procedure. Charity Care applications are available upon request for patients who are unable to pay for their services.
We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, cashier’s checks and cash as forms of payment.
Your insurance company typically must authorize or pre‑certify your hospital visit in order to facilitate payment of services. For surgical cases, the physician's office is responsible for obtaining pre‑certification. The doctor has access to the patient's medical history and indication for the procedure. It is advisable for you to do a follow‑up with your doctor to ensure that this process has occurred. Failure to have a surgery, test or procedure pre‑certified could result in reduced or denied benefits by the insurance carrier.
Patients can apply for Medi‑Cal at Antelope Valley Hospital by visiting the cashier on the first floor of the main hospital to receive a Medi‑Cal application and make an appointment to meet with one of our eligibility personnel right here at the hospital.
If there is anything we can do to make your stay more pleasant, please tell a member of our staff.
