Labor & Delivery Visiting Hours

All visitors must check-in with the security desk at the Women & Infants Pavilion to receive a visitor pass sticker, which must be worn at all times and visible above the waist. Anyone who is sick or has symptoms of respiratory infection should not visit the Women & Infants Pavilion to protect babies from infection. If you are feeling ill, please wait until your symptoms subside before visiting.

Visiting hours for labor and delivery and couplet care are from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The baby’s siblings are encouraged to visit the new baby; however, babies and children of other family members and friends are not permitted. Visiting children must be free of any illness such as a rash, runny nose, fever, and so on, and must be accompanied by an adult (other than the patient) at all times. One (1) sibling (brother/sister) accompanied by an adult is permitted; the child must be 2+ years of age and must be able to wear a mask for the duration of the visit. Special hours for sibling visiting are available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

Visitation During Labor & Delivery

For safety reasons, children under 16 are not permitted in labor and delivery, triage or surgery rooms.

Labor and Delivery Triage

When you first arrive in the labor and delivery triage area, and, after the initial assessment by a nurse, you will be allowed one support person to remain with you.

Labor and Delivery and Antepartum

Labor and Deliver will allow two support persons over the age of 16 years present during labor and delivery. Antepartum patients: are allowed one overnight guest during stay. Triage patients: One support person is allowed. Couplet Care will allow one support person over the age 18 years to stay overnight. Only 2 visitors at patient’s bedside at a time during visiting hours.

Surgery and Recovery

Only one visitor is permitted to accompany the patient during surgery and recovery. Visitor switching is not allowed during surgery or recovery.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Parents with newborns admitted to our NICU will receive a copy of the department’s visiting guidelines.

Please note: Our visitation policy may be changed or updated at any time, and video recording is not allowed in any area of the Women & Infants Pavilion.
