Cancer Treatment Options

Specialized Oncology Care in Lancaster

The type of treatment patients get depends on their cancer type, stage, overall health, and many other factors. Our highly skilled, board-certified Antelope Valley Medical Center oncologists use only the latest treatment options, which may include a combination of tumor removal surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, among others.

State-of-the-Art Cancer Treatment Options

Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery

Minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgery allow the surgeon to use innovative scopes and other imaging tools to view and operate through much smaller incisions. As a result, most patients experience shorter hospital stays, less post-operative pain, and faster recovery times than traditional surgeries.

Parenteral Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy are delivered on 4-Tower by oncology nurses who have obtained competence by passing the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Course and have had hands-on training.

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that uses electrical energy and heat to destroy cancer cells. With this treatment, high-frequency energy is delivered through a thin needle, causing the surrounding tissue to heat up and kill nearby cancer cells.

Chemoembolization

Chemoembolization delivers chemotherapy drugs directly to a tumor while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues. Chemoembolization may be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or radiofrequency ablation.
