Free Lecture Dec. 12: “Beating the Holiday Blues”

Roger Girion, Ph.D., will present "Beating the Holiday Blues" on December 12 at 7 p.m. at the Antelope Valley Medical Center Community Resource Center, 44151 15th Street West in Lancaster. The free hour-long lecture will explore:
- How to combat the stresses of the holidays.
- Signs and symptoms of the winter blues.
- Definition of seasonal affected disorder (SAD).
- Ways to find the joy of the season.
- How not to ruin next year by overspending this year.
"The holidays can be a challenging time for many people as they get out of their routines and face situations that may be uncomfortable or anxiety-producing," said Dr. Girion, executive director of mental health services for AV Hospital. "During my presentation, I hope to help people understand that they’re not alone and provide them with insight on avoiding the holiday blues."
