Antelope Valley Hospital Hosts a Candlelight Vigil to Honor Staff & Community

  • Posted On:

As, Antelope Valley Hospital (AVH) concludes Nurses/Hospital Week, the hospital invites the community to take part in a candlelight vigil to pay tribute to those affected by the pandemic, and to celebrate the perseverance of our medical staff, first responders, and the community as a whole. We will come together to collectively share our experience, heal together, celebrate the determination of our community, and embrace the hope for tomorrow.

“AVH extends our heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn a loss, and we commit to heal together. Through this experience, we are reminded how strong our community is, and how essential our healthcare workers are,” said Edward Mirzabegian, CEO of the Antelope Valley Hospital.

AVH treated over 3,500 positive cases and has admitted over 1,600 patients since the start of the pandemic; not including the thousands of additional patients seen throughout the year. During the ceremony, a blessing will be made by our spiritual care team for our community and AVH staff for their perseverance during one of the most difficult years in healthcare history.

For those present we will hold a lit vigil, and ask those joining us from their home or business, to leave their outdoor lights on.

Media is invited to interview participants, including AVH CEO and spiritual team; and take photos of the ceremony. The Lancaster Sheriff Department will participate in a salute to medical staff.
