Sincere Gratitude

“Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to your staff.”

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to your staff. We lost our grandpa, Glen Beard, on Mother’s Day in the Critical Care Unit.

He was brought into your Emergency Department on May 8 having trouble breathing. It was discovered at that time that he had pneumonia and was placed on life support until he could make it to the hospital. Your Emergency Department nurse, Lacey, was absolutely amazing and will hold a special place in all of our hearts forever! She has so much compassion for her job and her patients. She answered any question we had without hesitation, and she really knows her stuff.

Later that night he was moved up to the Critical Care Unit at which point we were introduced to his CCU nurse, Raj. She was very straight-forward and explained in great detail what to expect and how to keep him comfortable as we were approaching the removal of the respirator. But at no point was she pushing for time or made us feel rushed. She gave us the time we needed to take it all in and accept what was about to happen, with the most heartfelt advice we needed at that time. Going through such an emotional process with our whole family at his bedside until the very end without having to battle with the hospital staff made the transition for us that much easier.

Our grandpa, Glen Beard, volunteered at your hospital for over 50 years; and our grandma, Dorothy Beard, passed away there in 2001. Needless to say we have strong ties and a lot of history with your hospital.

Please let your staff know how much we appreciate them, especially those incredible women who helped us through the process! Lacey and Raj are truly amazing at what they do. Some choose nursing for the money, these ladies have what it really takes and are really making a difference in the lives of others.

Sincerely and with great gratitude,

Julianna Heath Franckowiak
