Labor & Delivery Visiting Hours

Updated: March 25, 2021 — Visitors are welcomed back to the hospital starting March 8, 2021. Please check our updated visitation guidelines prior to your visit.

All visitors must check-in with the security desk at the Women & Infants Pavilion to receive a visitor pass sticker, which must be worn at all times and visible above the waist. Anyone who is sick or has symptoms of respiratory infection should not visit the Women & Infants Pavilion to protect babies from infection. If you are feeling ill, please wait until your symptoms subside before visiting. Visiting hours for labor and delivery and couplet care are from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The baby’s siblings are encouraged to visit the new baby; however, babies and children of other family members and friends are not permitted. Visiting children must be free of any illness such as a rash, runny nose, fever, and so on, and must be accompanied by an adult (other than the patient) at all times. Special hours for sibling visiting are available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

Visitation During Labor & Delivery

For safety reasons, children under 12 are not permitted in labor and delivery, triage or surgery rooms.

Labor and Delivery Triage

When you first arrive in the labor and delivery triage area, and, after the initial assessment by a nurse, you will be allowed one visitor to remain with you.

Labor and Delivery and Antepartum

After admission to your labor and delivery room, you may have up to three designated visitors with you during labor. If other family members are present, a waiting area is located in the lobby. After delivery and upon the mother’s permission, the nurse will invite all of the family members over the age of 12 years into the delivery room for a short visit to meet their new family member.

Surgery and Recovery

Only one visitor is permitted to accompany the patient during surgery and recovery. Visitor switching is not allowed during surgery or recovery.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Parents with newborns admitted to our NICU will receive a copy of the department’s visiting guidelines.

Please note: Our visitation policy may be changed or updated at any time, and video recording is not allowed in any area of the Women & Infants Pavilion.
